"Carnavalacious" on Friday November 15, 2002 at 7 p.m.
at the new Samba Gallery at Tony's French Dips Restaurant. Three
professional photographers, Lawrie Margrave, Rebeca Baylis, and
Kirk Miller documented the pageantry, color, and drama of the 7th
Annual Brazilian Street Carnaval held on September 16, 2002. Photos
from that one-day, 12-hour event will be on display. Gallery hours starting November 15 will be Monday - Thursday 11 a.m. - 7 p.m., Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. - 1 a.m., closed Sundays. The book MANNED SPACECRAFT, A HISTORY OF SPACE EXPLORATION (in
Portuguese), by Claudio Oliveira Egalon, Jorge Luiz Calife and
Reginaldo Miranda Jr., has recently been published. Dr. Claudio
Egalon is a Brazilian Physicist and Engineer with two Ph.D.'s.
He worked for NASA Langley Research Center, in Hampton, Virginia,
during ten years and lives in Los Angeles, California. Jorge Luiz
Calife is writer with a specialization in Science. He worked during
ten years as Science Editor for the Jornal do Brasil in Rio de
Janeiro and worked with Arthur Clarke in the publication of the
book 2010. Reginaldo Miranda Junior is science writer and illustrator
who also worked for the Jornal do Brasil. |
